Robert Richard (Bob) Hobson. 1928 - 2013

Robert Richard Hobson was born April 11, 1928, the first child of Robert Gordon and Nettie Josephine (Stephens) Hobson. Bob adored his family, seven generations of Womacks, Coxes, Hobsons, and Stephenses. His family returned that love and surrounded him as he peacefully slipped away January 30, 2013 at his home in Emmett.

Bob was an Idaho boy. Born in Cambridge he grew up in McCall, Sweet, Indian Valley, and Emmett. Some of his happiest times were at his grandparent's ranch at Crane Creek. He had a lifelong love of horses, and spent a good part of his youth riding and cowboying with his uncles on the ranch.

Bob loved his country, and proudly served in the United States Navy. He joined at 17, and spent 4 years on active duty at sea, in Japan, and China as a radar man. Later he served again in Japan during the Korean conflict.

He was married to Lillian Irene Leniuk for 28 years, raising their children Patty and Robby (Robert Roman). Later Bob married Carrol Tibbets and raised their daughter Leah, along with Carrol's sons Rick and Steve Tibbets.

Bob loved the land and made a lasting mark with his construction work. He built roads, did sitework, and worked on the first section of Idaho’s interstate highway and hydro projects like Brownlee and Oxbow Dams.

Bob is survived by his devoted wife of 35 years Carrol, son Robert Roman Hobson (Jeannette), daughters Patty Davis (Paul), and Leah Sisk (Bobby), stepsons Rick (Sherry) Tibbets and Steve (Roxie) Tibbets. His 8 grandchildren: Robert M., Katie, and Drew Hobson; Bryan, Erik, and Adam Davis; and Colton and Caden Sisk. He also had 7 great grand children: Sage, Cole, Hope, Conner, Grace, Austin and Bodie.
